The Mountbatten Centre holds an extensive library of books, journals and documents in security studies, focussing particularly on nuclear non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament, as well as a collection of information on conventional, chemical and biological weapons proliferation and general security issues.

The Mountbatten Centre also holds a growing collection of papers, books, journals and other material relevant to its project on British Nuclear History.

As reading space is extremely limited, the library is available for use by appointment only, for students of Southampton University following studies in the field of non-proliferation and disarmament, and to those outside the department with a committed research interest in these areas. New users must first apply to use the library, and access is granted at the discretion of the Mountbatten Centre.
